In April of 2008, The Mark of Excellence visited Wall Street and the Museum of American Finance, where student employees learned about finance in the early days of this country,  the history of entrepreneurship in the United States, and how New York City participates in the world economy. It was full day, which included lunch on the steps of Federal Hall, across the street from the New York Stock Exchange.

The 2007 season was a winning one for The Mark of Excellence. In addition to participating competitively in the spring at the Virtual Enterprise New York City Trade Fair, where www.tmoe.biz won an award for website excellence, student employees representing the company also distinguished themselves at the annual Region 7 Virtual Enterprise Business Plan Competition held in the December at New Dorp High School in Staten Island. It was the finest showing by the Business Plan Team in many years.  Congratulations to those who participated!

Recognition for work done got a big boost in December of the year when WABC News in New York City sent a camera crew to record and profile the work done at The Mark of Excellence. As our product line and expertise grows, so does our reputation. [See the video at the Gallery above.]

2007 was also a year that also witnessed unprecedented student employee participation in the creation of goods and services provided to real clients. A successful button and pin enterprise has been the result. The selling of creative and decorative buttons was the idea of student employees. Their creative energy and drive has made TMOE buttons and pins a recognizable part of New Utrecht High School and the students who go there.
